Avatar: The Last Airbender

I first heard of A:TLA when one of my friends from back home was talking about it. She had said that she liked it, but that was back in the day when I wasn't allowed to do most things, and other things I was too proud to do.
But, when I came to school, one of my friends showed me part of the abridged version.
Which, I have to say, was highly humorous. ^^

But, now I am watching the real thing, for real.
Legend of Korra is being released, and I actually want to be part of this fandom... from the beginning. I like that they empower the female characters... give them some class. Give them some strength. Not make them... well... womanly. ^^

My roommate and I started watching... last week, I think it was.
Then today, after RCA [Role Call Association; our cosplay group on campus] met up to redecorate the display board in the University Center, we got pizza and such and hung out in my dorm room watching it.
We are now on Book Two: Chapter 9, I do believe.

As of now, these are my impressions and/or feelings on the characters:

Aang: he is the main character, and he is a child. He is also entrusted with this awesome power that he doesn't know how to control. Overall, he is a fun character, and the amount of cocky and assertiveness is easily balanced with his child-like carefree and joking attitude.
Katara: she is the responsible, level-head female. Sure, she's got a little bad-assery in her, but for the most part she is the mediator... the calm one. She can defend herself and stand her ground when she is fighting, but overall... not too hardcore.
Sokka: I love him! He is definitely comic relief, but he also has a severe devotion and dedication to friends and family. He's been put in charge of things at a young age, so he tries to be the bold, brave, confident one. I also think he feels left out at times, because he isn't a Bender. But, he doesn't get down about it.
Toph: so. hardcore. She is a definite favorite. XD She is any girl's dream... bold, confident, daring, independent, and her family thinks she is weak, and needs protection. But she isn't. Because she is young, a female and blind, she is considered less than what she is. And she disproves all of that. She is an amazing character, even if she is short-tempered and spoiled.
Zuko: Zuko. Baby. Honey. Come here so I can hold you... My heart breaks for him, poor dear. All he wants to do is win the attention and approval of a father who is never going to give it to him. And he is too proud to ask for help, so he denies his uncle. I can see why he would hate his sister... she is a sadistic little instigator. But I think Zuko needs to step down from his pedestal and away from his father. Either that, or just kill the bloody bastard and take what is rightfully his.
Iroh: Zuko's uncle is the father Zuko should have had... he lost his own son in war, and 'adopted' Zuko as a result of both his loss and Zuko's lacking. His tea and advice are both good for Zuko, but Zuko is too confused and clouded by his father's denial. Iroh simply cares about what happens to his nephew, and goes along with everything he does, allowing Zuko to be independent, but he is always there when he is needed.
Azula: A bitch, but an amazing woman. She is definitely a go-getter. XD She fights for what she wants, and she is a well-crafted character. The younger sibling who is good at everything and shows up the older one, winning daddy's affections... She is bold, confident, and ruthless... I am curious to see how she falls, if she does.
Ty Lee: She is a total badass. All three of these girls are. But she is also very... womanly. XD She accents females in the typical manner, I should say. She is an acrobat, which is legit... and she uses her skills to temporarily paralyze people, making them unable to Bend.
Mai: Always bored. XD I like her... and her fighting style. I don't think she can bend, but she is always shooting and throwing knives, arrows, etc. She is quick and dangerous. all three of these girls are. Although Mai kind of grates on my nerves... she's just so conceited, like she is just too good for everything.
And of course, Appa and Momo and all supporting, one-episode characters... gotta love them all. ^^

It's a well-written show, and I am anxious to see it through to the end; one more thing I need to do. -.-
BUT, I enjoy it, so it's all good. ^^

Kingdom Hearts

I've played a little of both Kingdom Hearts I and Kingdom Hearts II, but I would really like to play all of them completely...
Most of my friends from school have played most of them, and I am in a Kingdom Hearts RP... So they have all played them as well... and they all say that they are such good games...

I want to play the games... and understand the story line.

When I first heard of them, I scoffed at the idea... just because, y'know... Disney, Donald, Goofy, the cheesy lines, etc. all seemed childish... but the story is actually pretty interesting (and confusing as all hell) and semi-deep. I mean, sure, it has it's corny moments...
But I love watching my roommate (whom we will call.... Kiwi) play them.
Kiwi actually was the first person to tell me about them... and I knew she was like, obsessed with it. XD I bought her a poster for Kingdom Hearts II, when I didn't even know what it was. lol I just recognized the characters and design and such, and bought it...

wow.

That was a LONG time ago, it feels like... that was our first semester here at school. lol

Now, I know a lot... mostly from looking things up, watching Kiwi play the games, and asking questions about it. I RP as Larxene from Organization XIII... and I like her. A lot of people don't because she is a 'sadistic bitch'... but she is a woman who can stand on her own.
My friends had decided that I would be perfect for her, because when I first came to school I was very... brash and upfront. XD I was a bitch, more or less...
Once they got to know me better, however, they realized I am way more of a pushover.

But, Larxene was my first 'cosplay'. And I love her. I don't think I would want to be anyone else in the Organization, honestly.

Kiwi is my Roxas and Tater is my Zexion... :P Here at school I also have a Xemnas, Marluxia, Demyx, Axel, Namine, Vexen, Saix, and Xigbar (I've actually got like, 4 Xigbars in my life XD).

In our RP we've got:
Xemnas, Sora, Riku, Vanitus, Ventus, Aqua, Roxas, Axel, Zexion, Replica Riku, Demyx, Xigbar, Xion, Kairi, and a Larxene (of course). :P

I love them all; they are all so much fun. ^^ I've never RPed before this... I've written fanfiction, but it's different. We're all like family; it's funny.
I do some RPing... not too much, since most people don't really like Larxene as a character, and therefore their characters aren't going to associate with her, canon-ly. But that's okay. ^^ In the AU RP I ended up being Demyx's 'Mean Mom'... but I can't imagine being a mean mom in real life... so I am really working against that. XD
overall, it's fun, we chat a lot as a group and it's awesome. (and the ships... oh jeebs the ships XD)

But yeah... that's all I have to say about Kingdom Hearts right now... (28 March 2012 is the ten year anniversary of when it first came out, and it's all over Tumblr, and my roommate is playing it, and the RP group is flipping shit about it... so that's why I am getting all the feels and such. Therefore: blog post. XD)

A New AWESOME Idea

Okay...
So I was on my Tumblr the other day (per usual) and I came across a list of ideas of things to do, kind of like, 101 ways to get kicked out of WalMart, y'know?
And one of these ideas was "Wear a shirt that says Life and hand out lemons to people."

Who thinks up brilliant things like this??

So, I decided that at a con in the near future, I would love to do just this.
I don't know exactly how I am going to approach this...
I was thinking, play of off the game LIFE (y'know the one I'm talking about... with the spinner, and the little cars with the little color-coded peg people). I could just play it simple and put like, the LIFE logo on a shirt and wear all white...

But there is also Life cereal.
I could do something there.
Hm... the possibilties...

Well, I guess it's good I have time before the next con. XD

[which is, in fact, Otakon in Maryland. We are going out ('we' being my roommate and our current wallmate. We are soon going to be living together in an apartment together. Well, it's specifically called a townhouse, but I will forever use the terms interchangeably.) to this con and we are going to be able to meet some friends we made through an RP. which, I will elaborate on at a different point. XD]

So... yeah.
That con is at the end of July.
Only about a week after my birthday.
MY BIRTHDAY.
GUYS.
I AM OLD.
AND GETTING EVEN OLDER.

Life is going far too fast for my liking. I would like to breathe and take a step back to enjoy the scenery.
But, I guess that's the price we all pay for being First World people. :P

But I was just wanting to get that out there... I need to start brainstorming these things...
and coming up with a cosplay list.
And work on my Illustration project... study for Math and for Twentieth Century Art And Architecture...
And like, live..... eat, sleep, shower, get a job, earn money, pay for things... etc. etc. etc....


Our lives are so short, and we spend so much of it doing the same thing over and over. XD


People are silly.
